Minnesota Vikings rookie cornerback Akayleb Evans is quickly becoming a fan favorite.
From road tripping with his pet bunny Benji, to random breakouts of “The Griddy,” to motivational posts in anticipation for the 2022 season—Evans’ social media has been exceptionally entertaining for those looking to pass the time in the quiet weeks ahead of training camp.
But make no mistake, the fourth-round pick out of Missouri didn’t put in all of the work just to be a social media star in the NFL. He’s hell-bent on making a name for himself at the next level and leaving his mark on the game forever.
“Today makes 2 month’s since I was drafted to Minnesota and it’s been everything I could of imagined because of the people in the organization and fans. I can’t wait to do legendary things moving forward,” Evans posted on social media.

Evans could be one of the surprise players on a team that won’t rush him to be NFL-ready.
Patrick Peterson and Cameron Dantzler are holding down the top-two corner positions at the moment. The Vikings also have rookie second-round pick Andrew Booth Jr. waiting in the wings.
But Evans exceeding expectations would be a tremendous turn of events for a team that finished with one of the worst passing defenses in the league last season.
What a feather in the cap that would be for first-year general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to find out he hit a home run on Day 3 of the draft at one of the biggest positions of need.
