After injuring his shoulder in 2019 along with multiple re-injuries of the joint, Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook decided to address it. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cook underwent shoulder surgery on Tuesday morning to fix the long-standing issue.

Cook re-injured his shoulder for what felt like the 10th time in week four against the Detroit Lions. After that, he wore a brace on his shoulder and luckily didn’t have any issues for the rest of the season.
This offseason is a big one for Cook’s future with the Vikings. He carries a salary cap hit of $14.1 million but could save $7.8 million if the Vikings had chosen to move on.
With him having surgery in February, the question arises as to whether the Vikings can move on from him. According to Jason Fitzgerald from Over The Cap, the surgery locks in his $2 million injury guarantee, which would now only save the Vikings $5.8 million.
