The Minnesota Vikings are continuously making roster moves to adjust their roster based on its current needs. This is normal for teams in the National Football League as injuries happen frequently.
Due to injuries, the Vikings made eight roster moves last week and waived one of those on Tuesday in wide receiver Trishton Jackson.
On Wednesday morning, the Vikings made three somewhat anticipated roster moves.
OLB Marcus Davenport
The Vikings placed Davenport on injured reserve on Wednesday after injuring his ankle against the Chicago Bears. The part about it that’s frustrating is that Davenport injured was not the ankle he injured before week one against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His high ankle sprain will cost Davenport at least four weeks.
RB Kene Nwangwu
The Vikings activated Nwangwu off injured reserve. They opened his practice window last week and he practiced in full all week. He has two weeks left on his practice window, but the Vikings thought he was ready to go and for good reason. Ty Chandler has been solid as a kick returner but he isn’t Nwangwu, who was a second-team All-Pro last season.
WR Jalen Nailor
The Vikings activated the practice window for Nailor on Wednesday. He has essentially been injured with a hamstring since the first day of training camp. It’s good to have him coming back as soon as Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers with Justin Jefferson out. Many had high expectations for Nailor going into the season, but the injury has hampered the former sixth-round pick.
