Vikings get secondary help in latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft

The Minnesota Vikings have needs at several positions as the 2025 offseason cycle heats up. Of course, we still have the Super Bowl to be played on Sunday before everyone joins the fun, but the Vikings front office has to know where they will go in the coming weeks.

One part no one forgets about during the offseason is the NFL draft, with that comes mock drafts.

One of the latest mock drafts published was by NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein. The longtime draft analyst published his first mock draft of the 2025 draft cycle. With the Vikings’ first pick at 24 overall, the Vikings were attached to cornerback Jahdae Barron. The Texas Longhorn defender has been seen by many as a great fit for the team, and if you look at Zierlein’s analysis, you will see that he agrees but also points out the importance of the pick.

“With the Vikings currently holding just three picks in the 2025 draft — a first-rounder and two fifth-rounders — they need to hit in Round 1. With terrific instincts and ball production, Barron could step in quickly if necessary.”

The team has every starting cornerback as a pending free agent. We have to think the position is going to be drafted, and if they do so in round one, this could be a dream fit. His style fits what Brian Flores looks for in his cornerbacks, and under the defensive coordinator’s coaching, he could see some big strides in development.
