The Minnesota Vikings elevated running back Myles Gaskin and cornerback Bobby McCain from the practice squad to the active roster. Gaskin and McCain were active all preseason but were apart of initial roster cuts to get the team to the 53-man roster requirements.
Both players cleared waivers at the time and landed back with the Vikings when they signed to the practice squad.
Gaskin will begin his second season with the Vikings in 2024 after being drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 2019 NFL Draft. Gaskin has experience with special teams and is seen as a potential option for the team to utilize in the new kickoff style and will also serve as the team’s third-string running back.
McCain joined the Vikings during the preseason, as the team was looking to add depth to the secondary. He will also play some special teams roles and be part of the cornerback rotation in certain schemes and situations.
