The Minnesota Vikings are in need of multiple cornerbacks and one of their targets just came off the board. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the New England Patriots re-signed cornerback Jonathan Jones to a two-year deal.
Jones is a 29 year old cornerback who has played in the NFL for seven seasons, all of those with the Patriots. He has 11 career interceptions and 44 passes defended across 101 career games.
The allure of Jones was both his ability to play outside and slot corner while having played all seven season in Brian Flores’ defense. Three of those seasons were with Flores on staff.
The Vikings will have to go elsewhere at cornerback.
