Vikings agree to deal with rookie guard Ed Ingram ahead of training camp

Ed Ingram has reportedly agreed to a rookie contract with the Minnesota Vikings, per the Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson.

The offensive guard was one of two leftover 2022 draft picks, including cornerback Andrew Booth Jr., that had yet to be signed to a rookie contract. There was never any real concern over a deal not getting done with the thought that something would eventually come together ahead of training camp.

Ingram is looking at a four-year deal worth nearly $6 million as a second-round draft pick in his first NFL venture. The deal is expected to be official after he reports to the TCO Performance Center for training camp on Sunday.

His arrival is desperately needed for a Vikings team that has struggled at the right guard position. The hope is that he will step in right away and push veterans Jesse Davis, Chris Reed and Oli Udoh for the starting job.

More reliable interior protection would go a long way in helping the Vikings take that next step into the offensive elite.
