Best case scenario
Bradbury improves on his 2022 season and stays healthy. 2022 was the best season in a Vikings uniform for Bradbury. He was consistent and started to figure out how to better use leverage in the pass-blocking game, including standing up Jordan Davis. Kevin O’Connell found a way to maximize his strengths while minimizing his weaknesses and it worked really well.
Worst case scenario
Bradbury’s growth in 2022 was a mirage and he regresses back to what he was his first three years. Over the first three years, Bradbury would get consistently forklifted in the passing game and that would be a brutal disaster for Kirk Cousins. Considering he hasn’t gotten significantly stronger, this is a very real possibility.
What to expect in 2023
O’Connell isn’t suddenly going to lose his fastball after his first season, which is a good sign for Bradbury. He will still struggle with brute strength that can out-leverage him, but the switch to more 12 personnel will make a difference in maximizing his strengths. He won’t become an all-pro, but a successful center is a likely outcome, especially at his price point.
