This series will be your guide to the 2024 draft class. From scouting reports to mock drafts and exploring different scenarios, we will be covering the NFL draft and the future of the Minnesota Vikings from all angles.
The focus of the draft class in this space will be on the Vikings’ major needs at quarterback, running back, defensive line and edge rusher. We will also focus on wide receiver since it’s a loaded class and an increased chance to get a Stefon Diggs-type steal in the later rounds.
The Vikings are slated to have 9 picks going into the NFL draft and they need to make the most out of them.

Strengths
Franklin is a special mover He is smooth and explosive from start to finish. Accelerates quickly to reach top speed and can outrun defenders with ease.
When going vertical, stacks cornerbacks quickly and explodes past them to create big plays. Gives the quarterback ample space to lay the ball in for big plays.
At the line of scrimmage, Franklin displays quick feet out of his stance. Has multiple releases at his disposal to keep the defender guessing.
Weaknesses
Physicality is something that Franklin struggles with. His slight frame can easily get displaced and moved off his path.
Doesn’t have the best vision in space. Runs into defenders far too often impeding his routes or YAC.
Despite being a deep weapon, isn’t the best at tracking the football. Doesn’t see it well into his hands and that limits his vertical game more than you’d like. That pairs well with his drop issues. Had nine drops in 2023 per PFF.

Franklin has a lot of good with his profile but struggles to be a truly complete receiver. He would be best as a WR2 where he can grow and develop without the pressure. He could develop into a a WR1 but at the worst will be a good vertical field stretcher.
