Welcome to SKOL Search!
This series will be your guide to the 2024 draft class. From scouting reports to mock drafts and exploring different scenarios, we will be covering the NFL draft and the future of the Minnesota Vikings from all angles.
The focus of the draft class in this space will be on the Vikings’ major needs at quarterback, running back, defensive line and edge rusher. We will also focus on wide receiver since it’s a loaded class and an increased chance to get a Stefon Diggs-type steal in the later rounds.
The Vikings are slated to have 9 picks going into the NFL draft and they need to make the most out of them.

Strengths
Guerendo is an athletic beast. He jumped 41.5″ in the vertical and 10’9″ in the broad jump while running a 4.33-second 40-yard dash. Is the second-best athlete per Relative Athletic Score at the running back position
Shows patience in allowing blocks to develop in both zone and gap concepts. Sees what is happening in front of him and will attack the open hole.
Has good contact balance. His strong base helps him break arm tackles, including ones where he jumps over defenders
Displays good vision in multiple concepts and has nimble feet to make quick cuts in the hole.
Weaknesses
Despite having phenomenal testing numbers, his explosiveness out of the blocks is lacking. That lack of burst keeps him from truly taking things to the next level.
His lack of burst especially shows up when cutting back in zone concepts. Guerendo might be best suited for a gap scheme but he can excel in zone concepts.
Due to his speed, Guerendo will try to bounce runs outside a little too often. Needs to focus a little bit more on using his patience to maximize his impact.
Has some injury history. He suffered hamstring injuries in 2018, 2019 and 2020 along with a lisfranc injury that ended his 2021 season.
Only has 273 touches across six years in college. Did play wide receiver in high school which explains his redshirt year in 2018 along with the injury history. However, it’s still a concern.
