The focus of the draft class in this space will be on the Vikings’ major needs at quarterback, running back, defensive line and edge rusher. We will also focus on wide receiver since it’s a loaded class and an increased chance to get a Stefon Diggs-type steal in the later rounds.

Strengths
Lassiter is a solid mover in space and doesn’t waste motion. Can change direction out of his backpedal to attack the football.
He displays plenty of speed and agility to keep up with anyone on the field. Can stop on a dime to attack hitches and comebacks.
Stays in phase with the receiver down the field and has the speed to carry them all the way.
In open space, Lassiter is aggressive when it comes to tackling. He identifies what is happening in front of him and shoots downhill with aggressiveness. Lassiter also wraps up well when tackling.
Displays really good route recognition in zone concepts. Understands what is happening in front of him and attacks it the right way consistently.
Weaknesses
Lassiter gets a little grabby during the route. When he does, it feels like a panic move to stay in phase with the receiver but he has the speed to keep up.
Displays some tightness in his lower half especially when changing directions.
Doesn’t have consistent ball skills. Only has nine PBUs per Pro Football Focus and one interception on 108 career targets. Lassiter needs to work on turning his head more consistently.
Play strength can be an issue, especially when holding the edge in the running game. Can get bowled over a little too easily.

All in all, Lassiter is one of the better cornerback prospects to come out of Georgia over the last few years. He is aggressive in stopping the run with the recognition skills to thrive in zone coverage. If he can figure out some of the little nuances, he could be a steal in the second round.
