Viggo Venn's Britain's Got Talent win marred by 'controversy' as audience boo results

Viggo Venn was more shocked than anyone that he won Britain's Got Talent on Sunday night, as the audience at the Hammersmith Apollo booed the fact that some stand out performers didn't even make the top three.

Norwegian comedian Viggo had definitely been gathering momentum as the week went on, especially after making it past the semi finals and, with just hours to go, bookies made him second favourite to triumph, overtaking young opera singer Malakai Boyah and putting him just behind red hot favourite, dancer Musa Motha.

After all of the remaining acts had performed in the BGT final and fans were treated to Susan Boyle making a shock return to the show that made her world famous 14 years ago, it was down to hosts Ant and Dec to announce this year's Britain's Got Talent result, going through each of the contestants one by one to reveal their fate.

There were boos when it was revealed that singer Olivia Lynes hadn't made into the top three, with even louder ones when Ant and Dec told Ghetto Kids that they also weren't in contention.

The negative reaction to long-time favourite Malakai also being out of the running was even louder still, before just Viggo and Musa were left to find out their fate. And, when it was Viggo who made it through, the crowd inside the Apollo booed louder than for any of the other results.

Different to any other Britain's Got Talent winner before him, Viggo is a popular guy, but the fact he won did not go down well with a LOT of people online. Picking up on the reaction inside the theatre, one unhappy viewer took to Twitter to post: "The crowd booing literally says it all.. what a joke of a series."

A second responded: "you should be embarrassed that he won over real talent," and another tweeting: "Last series for me! It’s just made a mockery of the really talented people that were on there!"
