Viewers were unhappy with the ending to an episode of The Chase after a contestant's answer was declared wrong because of a one-letter mistaker.
Nathan, Victoria, Rich and Pam were the latest to take on the Chaser in the hit ITV show, and found themselves pitted against Shaun Wallace.
Nathan, 43, easily made his way past the Dark Destroyer and was joined by Victoria and Pam for the Final Chase where they had a chance to win £19,000, reports The Echo.
They built up 16 steps but fans felt one of Nathan's answers was unfairly marked as incorrect. Bradley asked: "Daniel Bedingfield had a first number one hit with what UK single?"
Nathan answered "I Gotta Get Thru This" but Bradley denied the answer as the specific name of the song is just "Gotta Get Thru This."
Bradley explained the rules have to be "strict", but viewers following the show on Twitter were unhappy. Rich said: "Pathetic and pedantic on the Daniel Bedingfield song question"
Adam added: "Seems harsh to not give the Daniel Bedingfield one, surely they shouldn’t give “Simpsons” without “the” either then"
Lee posted: "Hope they don’t lose out because of that. Harsh"
Penev commented: "How can you not give him that Daniel Beddingfield answer, embarrassing that"
The team built up 16 steps and it is unlikely the extra step would have made a difference as they were caught with 17 seconds remaining.
