This Morning viewers wasted not time in flocking to social media as Lewis Capaldi made his first-ever appearance on the programme. And he even left with an unexpected offer from Alison Hammond. The presenter was back fronting the show alongside Dermot O'Leary when the excited pair welcomed the Scottish singer into the studio.
Sat on the famous sofa, Lewis spoke to the ITV daytime show's hosts about his new Netflix documentary, How I'm Feeling Now, which sees him open up on his mental health struggles. "I got approached about [the documentary] in 2019, before Covid, and I had a good 2019," the Someone You Loved singer recalled about being asked to do a behind-the-scenes film.
"At the time they were like we'll do it and come and do a victory lap of my year. I was like yeah I'm gonna look like a hero! And then Covid happened. It's actually quite a depressing documentary, to tell you the truth," he then added in his usual self-deprecating style.

Speaking more about the documentary, Lewis, who was diagnosed with Tourette's last year, explained: "When I watched the first draft back - I was like do I die at the end of this? Because it's quite sad. It's good now because we filmed some extra bits about my life now. But because it's about my mental health, my struggles. Until I watched it I didn't realise how much my anxiety and other stuff I struggle with really coloured my life.
"I never realised how much I needed to address a lot of things - like really going to therapy and focusing on my mental health - I'll get to my physical health eventually. I didn't realise it had an effect on my parents, how I was like ignoring my mental health and letting it consume me. It's weird to watch it back and embarrassing to have a camera crew follow you around for that long."
Lewis' appearance on This Morning also comes after he revealed that he is battling vertigo and admitted that he thought he was dying 'for a couple of days' while suffering the disconcerting symptom.
It comes after Lewis revealed that he is battling Vertigo and admitted that he thought he was dying 'for a couple of days' while suffering the disconcerting symptom. Speaking to Alison and Dermot, he said: "I've got Vertigo right now, so I'm a bit - spinning around get out of my way.
He explained: "I don't usually have it - it's because I had bronchitis. I'm just telling you my ailments now. I have vertigo and we are on the other end of it now and I'm expecting diarrhoea in the next couple of weeks. I don't usually have it, but I just feel a bit dizzy sometimes."
But at the end of the chat, Alison got up to give Lewis an big cuddle. It came after Lewis said to the hosting pair: "Thanks so much for having me, I've had such fun!" Alison then laughed and replied: "I'll give you fun!" and made a beeline for the singer to hug him and the pair fell back, laughing together on the sofa.
