Nominees Luncheon for the 96th Oscars in Beverly Hills

The VIEW Conference, in partnership with the VFX Festival, is hosting a pair of virtual panel discussions with the directors and creatives behind animated features and shorts nominated for this year's Academy Awards. The insightful discussions will offer a unique opportunity for audiences to delve into the minds of the talented individuals responsible for bringing these captivating stories to life.

Scheduled for February 21st, the panel featuring five directors behind four contenders for the best animated feature Oscar promises to be a highlight of the event. Among the esteemed guests are Peter Sohn of 'Elemental,' Nick Bruno and Troy Quane of 'Nimona,' Joaquin Dos Santos of 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,' Pablo Berger of 'Robot Dreams,' and David Jesteadt, president of GKIDS, the distributor of 'The Boy and the Heron' directed by Hayao Miyazaki.

The shorts discussion, taking place on February 20th, will showcase the works of talented filmmakers including Tal Kantor and Amit Gicelter of 'Letter to a Pig,' Jerusha Hess of 'Ninety-Five Senses,' Yegane Moghaddam of 'Our Uniform,' Stephanie Clement of 'Pachyderme,' and Dave Mullins and Brad Booker of 'WAR IS OVER! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko.'

Expressing her enthusiasm for the upcoming panels, conference director Maria Elena Gutierrez commented, 'Having so much talent in the same place, at the same time, is nothing short of breathtaking. I cannot think of a better way to celebrate the achievements that have been made in animation this past year.'

Several of the nominated works, including 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,' 'Robot Dreams,' 'Nimona,' 'The Boy and the Heron,' and 'WAR IS OVER!' were recipients of awards at the recent Annie Awards, further underscoring the exceptional quality of these projects.

The VIEW Conference, an annual gathering of industry professionals, thought leaders, and enthusiasts, offers a platform for sharing insights and knowledge within the fields of animation, VFX, and games. This year's conference is scheduled for October 14-19 in Turin, Italy. For those interested in attending the upcoming panels or learning more about the conference, visit the VIEW Conference website.
