It’s been about six months since we’ve seen Colby Covington in the cage.
Granted, he’s been in plenty of headlines ever since he allegedly was attacked by former friend, now heated and hated rival Jorge Masvidal. But he hasn’t been in a fight since he beat Masvidal in March.
By all appearances, he’s been itching to get back to work, and UFC president Dana White recently said the promotion is trying to figure out a fight for him. His options may be a little limited, though.
New welterweight champion Leon Edwards presumably will have a rematch with Kamaru Usman next. Covington sits behind them. Khamzat Chimaev has a fight booked with Nate Diaz. That leaves the next tier with names like Belal Muhammad, Gilbert Burns and Geoff Neal.
So who makes sense for Covington? Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Brian “Goze” Garcia, Mike Bohn and Nolan King discussed that question with host “Gorgeous” George Garcia. You can watch their conversation in the video above, or check out this week’s full episode below.
