UFC 300 next month is the one that rightfully is getting the lion’s share of headlines – and it’s positively loaded.
But holy smokes, let’s just be honest: UFC 299 on Saturday in Miami is plenty stacked, too – to the point there’s a legitimate argument to be made that it might be a better card than the big round number coming up a few weeks after it. Right? Right?
Time will tell, but for now, the one in the spotlight is UFC 299, and it’s got a big headliner with bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley in a rematch against Marlon Vera. But not far below them, there are some folks who could mess things up for some of their contemporaries.
Could the winner between Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint Denis jump the queue ahead of Justin Gaethje or the Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan winner? If Michael Page makes a huge splash in his UFC debut against Kevin Holland, could he fight fellow Brit Leon Edwards for the title and leave Belal Muhammad in the cold again? How about Jailton Almeida against Curtis Blaydes? Is there a way for one of them to get to Jon Jones quicker?
Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Farah Hannoun, Simon Samano and Brian “Goze” Garcia breaks it down with host “Gorgeous” George Garcia.
