In his continued effort to make it back to the big show, UFC alum Joe Giannetti added another highlight finish to his reel.
Giannetti (15-5-1), who was the lightweight runner-up on “The Ultimate Fighter 27,” took a short-notice fight Saturday at Cage Titans 62 in Plymouth, Mass. Up a weight class at welterweight, the risk paid off as Giannetti flattened opponent Pat Casey (10-8) with a jumping karate-style switch kick to the face. A couple hammerfists later, the fight was over at 2:12 of Round 2.

After the win, Giannetti campaigned to the UFC brass to give him another opportunity in the promotion. Giannetti competed once inside the UFC cage during the “TUF 27” lightweight final bout in July 2018. He lost a split decision to Mike Trizano.
Giannetti was let go by the promotion following the defeat. Since then, Giannetti has gone 9-4-1 with eight finishes for Cage Titans and LFA.
