The UFC returns to South Florida on Saturday to crown a new featherweight champion – and potentially one who is a former champ.
At UFC 314, former 145-pound titleholder Alexander Volkanovski (26-5 MMA, 13-4 UFC) takes on Diego Lopes (27-6 MMA, 6-1 UFC) for the belt vacated by Ilia Topuria, who beat Volkanovski to win the title 14 months ago. Topuria vacated the belt so he can move up to lightweight.
The promotion has released the UFC 314 cold open video. The card features the featherweight title fixture between Volkanovski (26-5 MMA, 13-4 UFC) and Lopes (27-6 MMA, 6-1 UFC). In the co-feature, rising star Paddy Pimblett (22-3 MMA, 6-0 UFC) meets former Bellator champ Michael Chandler (23-9 MMA, 2-4 UFC).
The video is narrated by actor and regular UFC voice-over narrator Ron Perlman and has a backdrop soundtrack of “I Am the One” by Vo Williams and DJ Ricky Luna.
