Truck convoy takes up positions around Parliament
The first trucks in a convoy organized to protest the federal government's COVID-19 vaccine mandate for cross-border big-rig drivers arrived in the capital Friday. Several protesters said that though the movement started in support of mandates for truckers, the message has resonated with other people opposed to vaccine mandates.

Calgary man sentenced in hit-and-run death of police officer
The passenger in a car that was involved in the hit-and-run death of Calgary Police officer Sergeant Andrew Harnett has been sentenced to five years in prison. Amir Abdulrahman entered a guilty plea to manslaughter in December.
