Video of rugby star having his shoulder put back in leaves 6.3 million people wincing

Jacob Host dislocated his shoulder making a tackle last weekend, and the cringe-worthy video of the medical team popping it back into place is doing the rounds on TikTok.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs were playing New Zealand Warriors in Magic Round, with the Rabbitohs winning a thrilling encounter 32-30. However, it was a moment that was captured in the dressing room which has sparked a huge audience on social media.

In the opening exchanges, Host made a tackle on Warriors star Aaron Pene, before displaying his immediate agony to spectators. The 25-year-old had dislocated his shoulder, and was removed from the field of play. In the viral clip, the Rabbitohs' second-row is surrounded by the medical team as they prepare to pop his shoulder back in. It makes for wince-worthy viewing.

Among Host's groaning, you can hear someone say, "tell me when you feel it popping". His shoulder, with a freakishly looking shape, subtly reverts back to normal and Host is overwhelmed with relief as he exclaims, "Oh, yeah!". Host's team mate Josh Mansour, grimaces after the procedure is completed.

The video has amassed 6.3 million views and 344,000 likes in just four days, and viewers sympathised with Host.

"Nothing beats the feeling of relief when it goes back in." said one.

"Hockey or US football guys wouldn't last 10 minutes." said another.

It was revealed after the game that Host would need surgery for his injury. The Rabbitohs' coach Jason Demetriou said: "I think he's dislocated his shoulder again. He'll have to see the specialist, more than likely he'll need surgery."
