Video of New Rubik’s Cube World Record (3.13 Seconds) Might Make Your Head Spin

Max Park, a 21-year-old speedcuber, broke the record for the fastest time to solve a 3x3x3 rotating Rubik’s cube.

Park solved the cube in 3.13 seconds to set the record on Sunday at California’s Pride in Long Beach 2023 event. The time of 3.13 seconds broke the existing record of 3.47 seconds, which was set by China’s Yusheng Du in ’18.

This is not the first time Park has set a record for solving a Rubik’s cube. Per Guinness World Records, Park holds the single solve and average solve for the 4x4x4 cube, 5x5x5 cube, 6x6x6 cube and 7x7x7 cube. Park’s record that he set for the 3x3x3 cube adds to his legacy.

The only record that Park does not hold is the 3x3x3 average solve. He held that record in a tie with Tymon Kolasiński of Poland with a time of 4.86 seconds, but it was broken on Mar. 12 by Yiheng Wang, a 9-year-old from China.

Here’s the video of Park’s ridiculous speed and his record-setting solve:
