Video: Jake Paul, Jorge Masvidal come face to face in parking lot

Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal came face to face Wednesday in Miami where the two chatted in a parking lot about past transgressions.

In a video posted to betr‘s social media accounts, Paul is seen walking out of the “betr warehouse” and toward Masvidal. Both men are surrounded by members from each of their crews – and plenty of cameras, too.

“Why are you trying to cause trouble?” Paul asked.

Masvidal responded, “Nah, it’s my city.”

“It’s your city, so you own this right here? ” Paul retorted. “… You’ve been saying a lot on Ariel Helwani’s (show). You called me a punk b*tch.”

Masvidal confirmed, “I did.”

While it’s not totally clear if the interaction was staged, Paul and Masvidal have plenty of history of callouts and public discourse about a future boxing match.

However, Masvidal told MMA Junkie Radio in March he wasn’t interested in a boxing match vs. Paul, as the YouTuber had recently lost a decision to Tommy Fury.

“Right now there’s nobody that I could really think of to call out,” Masvidal told MMA Junkie Radio. “But they already burst that bubble just because I always thought it would be a great fight for me, and that I could knock him out and make a lot of easy money while doing it, would have been Jake Paul. But that ship has sailed now that he lost that 0. Maybe he comes back and gets a couple of wins and stuff, but that’s probably the only dude because he’s easy money.

“I don’t think I was going to generate a huge pay-per-view sell with him, because he doesn’t bring those types of pay-per-views. But me being involved in boxing, who knows? Maybe I could have done well for myself and gotten some good pay-per-views.”

Paul is expected to box Aug. 5 vs. Nate Diaz in Dallas, while Masvidal is currently a free agent following his retirement from MMA in April. Outside of running his own promotions, Masvidal’s next move in combat sports is unclear.
