Luke Rockhold has called it a career.
The former UFC and Strikeforce middleweight champion may have ended his fighting career on a down note, but during his peak, Rockhold (16-6 MMA, 6-5 UFC) had an impressive run.
In Strikeforce, he put together a nine-fight win streak, including a title win and two defenses. His best stretch in the UFC was a five-fight run, which included stoppage wins over three former champions on his path to claiming gold. Rockhold took out Michael Bisping, Lyoto Machida, and Chris Weidman to become the seventh middleweight champ in UFC history.
His return after a three-year layoff didn’t go his way at UFC 278 against Paulo Costa, but we certainly saw flashes of his greatness throughout the three-round Fight of the Night battle.
Now that he has hung up the gloves and his resume is complete, did he do enough to earn a spot in the UFC Hall of Fame?
Our “Spinning Back Clique” panel of Nolan King, Danny Segura and Brian “Goze” Garcia answered that question with host “Gorgeous” George Garcia. You can watch their discussion in the video above or check out this week’s full episode below.
