UFC star Dustin Poirier always represents Louisiana in everything he does, but Friday was a first.
At the 2022 NFL Draft, Poirier and former NFL player Cam Jordan were the two representatives chosen by the New Orleans Saints to announce the team’s second round pick: Alontae Taylor, a cornerback from the University of Tennessee.
Jordan approached the mic first and said everything necessary, except the name, for which he left on a silver platter for Poirier to reveal the 49th overall pick.

In 2021, Taylor registered career highs with 60 tackles, two interceptions, and six pass breakups in 12 games started as a senior.
