One of the all-time great MMA careers came to an end when Jose Aldo informed the UFC has was done competing in the sport.
The legendary former UFC and WEC featherweight titleholder said farewell to this portion of his career, stirring all sorts of emotions, career retrospectives and opinions about what Aldo (31-8 MMA, 13-7 UFC) has done since his first MMA fight in August 2004.
More than 18 years after his debut, Aldo walked away with a resume that most who compete in the sport could only dream of, and a guaranteed spot in the UFC Hall of Fame one day.
His overall body of work is undeniable, but does it usurp every other name in 145-pound history? He had many highs, but his lows included losses to Alexander Volkanovski, Max Holloway and Conor McGregor, who are the other names tossed around the conversation of of the best featherweight of all time.
