Video: Did judges correctly score Magomed Ankalaev-Alex Pereira fight?

Magomed Ankalaev is the new UFC light heavyweight champion, but a part of the fan base and some pundits, think that belt should still belong to Alex Pereira.

Ankalaev (21-1-1 MMA, 12-1-1 UFC) and Pereira (12-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) clashed in the main event of Saturday’s UFC 313 in Las Vegas. Ankalaev won the fight by unanimous decision, scoring 49-46, and two 48-47’s on the three judges scorecards. It was an odd fight, and many didn’t take liking to it for it lack of action.

So, did the judges properly score the light heavyweight title bout? Should the UFC book an immediate rematch between the two?

MMA Junkie’s Brian “Goze” Garcia, Mike Bohn, Danny Segura and host Gorgeous George discuss Ankalaev’s championship win over Pereria and the scoring of the bout.

Watch their discussion in the video above, and don’t miss this week’s complete episode of “Spinning Back Clique” below on YouTube.
