Video: Crores spent by govt every year, Yamuna still remains polluted

New Delhi: More than two decades have passed, several promises made by the Delhi government and crores of Rs also spent, but the Yamuna river remained polluted which also impacting the air and water of the national capital. 


As soon as winter sets in, the air pollution causes various diseases. Delhi is already struggling with the air pollution, now the poisonous water of Yamuna has also created problems. The increased amount of ammonia in the water of Yamuna has raised concerns for quite some time. The froth on the Yamuna is primarily to pollutants and untreated sewage water.

Water Supply affected
The water of the Yamuna has become extremely poisonous. Due to this, drinking water is not being supplied in many areas. People are facing water crisis. However, the problem of increasing ammonia level in the river is not new. This has been seen for the last several years.


Dynamite News team went to Yamuna to assess the pollution on the banks of the river and spoke to the people of Delhi. People said that Yamuna is not just a river for them but a matter of faith. The people whom our team talked to said: "The blame game of the governments has converted the river into a drain.

'Blame Game' over Yamuna
On the one hand, the Delhi government is blaming the neighbouring states for the pollution of Yamuna, while on the other hand these states are appeared to have not done much to clean the Yamuna. 


Overall, this crisis of Yamuna seems to be a victim of politics. In such a situation, the big question is how to make Yamuna pollution free and also end the water crisis of Delhi.
