Melbourne Victory are hoping last weekend's derby victory can spur on their salvage mission from a disastrous start to the A-League Men's campaign, as they prepare for another heated rivalry fixture on Sunday.
Fresh from an upset 3-2 win against Melbourne City, they now host original rivals Adelaide United who are searching for a third win in four games.
Their recent wins snapped a horrific run of form where they took one point from six games after the controversial Christmas derby with City.
But things are now looking up for Victory, coach Tony Popovic confident another high-intensity fixture would again bring the best out of his troops.
"It's another big game which is probably good for us on the back of a fantastic derby win at home in front of our fans," he said.
"We know we've got to back it up, we're up against a team that's in very good form, that's at the top of the table as well.
"These games are always fiercely contested, we've just got to carry on from a very good performance last week."
Victory have named an unchanged squad while there's a number of changes at Adelaide, who go in riding a six-game unbeaten run that's left them third on the ALM table.
Defender Josh Cavallo will miss an extended period after Achilles surgery and fellow back Ryan Kitto is out through suspension, while bench option Panashe Madanha is among a trio on Young Socceroos duty.
They've named recently signed midfield duo Luke Duzel and Jay Barnett in their matchday squad.
While they slipped last time out in a 4-4 draw against Western Sydney, Popovic had seen more than enough to be wary of the danger they pose.
"They're a team that even if you're on top or you feel that you have control of the game ... at any moment with the quality they have in the front third, they can get a goal and get back in and they've shown that a lot recently," he said.
"They scored four last week, they came from behind here against Western United after being two down so you know that you know you have to concentrate for the full 95-odd minutes.
"We've seen we have our own threats, we've got to concentrate on our game to play our football and play well."
