Victorian guest house overlooking harbour at popular tourist spot hits the market

A VICTORIAN-ERA guest house which overlooks the harbour in Oban has gone up for sale.

Kilchrenan House is a semi-detached C-listed building with beautiful sea views of Oban Bay that has hit the market for offers over £1.5 million.

The 16-bedroom guest house has all the modern amenities including a reception in the hallway and a contemporary kitchen.

It also has other beautiful features throughout the property, including ornate cornicing, a twisted spindle banister on the staircase, stripped pine doors and wooden window shutters.

Included in the sale of the guest house is a detached four-bedroom property which is used as the owner's accommodation with an elevated lounge on the first floor so it can also take in stunning views from the harbour.

Kilchrenan House is currently run as an upmarket guesthouse and has a 4.5-star TripAdvisor rating.

Savills are in charge of the sale of the property and have described the location of the hotel as “remarkable” as it offers “superb panoramic sea views”.

It is also well positioned in the town as the local shops and restaurants are just a short walk away.
