Victoria Police is investigating a number of Victorian Liberal MPs after pictures were shared on social media of several party members inside parliament without masks.

The pictures show former AFL coach Kevin Sheedy posing with a number of Liberal MPs, including Opposition Leader Matthew Guy and Shadow Treasurer David Davis, without masks on.

Mr Guy said his party would cooperate with the police investigation.

"Whatever comes from the issues yesterday, I'm quite comfortable with, whatever comes comes, and we'll obviously deal with that," he said.

Mr Guy called on the government to roll back the mask requirements in certain settings.

"These rules are confusing. Mask mandates in non-high risk settings should be a thing of the past."

Premier Daniel Andrews was fined $400 after he was filmed without a mask before attending parliament in October last year.

Mr Andrews said the issue identified yesterday is a matter for Victoria Police.

"Well the rules are there to keep people safe, and if you don't follow the rules then you get a fine and you pay the fine. I say that with some authority," he said.

Mr Sheedy gave a motivational speech to the Liberal Party on Tuesday morning as state parliament returned for its first sitting week of the year.

He said he talked to the party about common sense and planning as it tried to win back seats at the November poll.

Mr Sheedy said he was not being paid for the speech.

At the time, Mr Guy said the Premier should be fined if he did not have a legitimate excuse for not wearing a mask and face "the full force of the law".

Under current health directives, everyone aged eight and above must wear a mask in all indoor settings in Victoria.
