Victoria Beckham has been slammed by fans online after she was targeted by cruel mum-shamers over the choice of her daughter Harper's birthday outfit.
Harper, the youngest child shared by Victoria and husband David Beckham, celebrated her 12th birthday on Tuesday as her mum fondly shared some snaps of the family celebrations on her Instagram page including an afternoon tea at Prada Caffè in Harrods.
The 12-year-old celebrated alongside her older brothers Romeo and Cruz, but it was her dress that got fans talking following the post.
Sharing the birthday trip, Victoria shared a snap of herself standing alongside Harper writing: "Harper Seven is 12!!(almost) @Prada party for Harper Seven CHIC!!"
Victoria was seen sporting a floor-length black dress which showed off her trim figure as she posed next to her daughter who was wearing a long silk lilac dress paired with some trainers.
But some social media viewers blasted the outfit choice as "inappropriate" as they took to the comments section to criticise the mum-of-four.
One user wrote: "Why is your pre teen dressed in bed wear - weird," while a second said: "She is a child in lingerie . It’s not right."
"Can't imagine letting a 12yr old wear a slip. That is not age appropriate as everyone is saying. People have lost the ability to actually say what they're really thinking, in case it offends the poster," slammed a third.
Someone else added: "A lingerie style dress for a 12yo girl isn’t appropriate at all. She’s super cute, her angel face doesn’t go well with that type of dress."
A fifth commented: "Omg... why? She is beautiful and out of all the socials s**t. that dress is horrible. Why don't just let her be a 12 girl? Please! She's so beautiful. Don't ruin her only to please your followers."
Some people even went as far as to question the families' choice of event to mark Harper's birthday, as some fans said they didn't think a trip to a Prada café was 'fun' for a 12-year-old.
One follower wrote: "whats a prada party? does not sound fun for a 12 year old to be honest... my 12th bday was celebrated at home with a few friends of mine. my mom baked me a cake and my friends and I enjoyed fun games like chocolate cutting,...."
Another agreed, adding: "At 12 she should be living the life of a girl not concerned or exposed to silly labels , fashion names etc. Childhood should be devoid of all that stupid stuff that insecure adults need in their life to some how feel validated."
