Victoria Beckham says meeting Queen was 'proudest moment' as she reflects on loss

Victoria Beckham shared that one of her proudest moments in the Spice Girls was meeting the late Queen after "reflecting" on the loss.

The 48-year-old penned a heartfelt tribute to the late Monarch on social media, just days after her husband David Beckham was spotted queueing at 2am to pay his respects. The Queen passed away peacefully on September 8, and her funeral will be taking place on Monday 19 September, reports the Mirror.

Victoria shared a series of photos from the Queen 's reign, including one that showed the singer shaking hands with the then-sovereign whilst stood with her bandmates. On Instagram, Victoria wrote: "I've spent the last week reflecting on the loss of [the Queen] and how she was a powerful source of inspiration not just for me, but for so many around the world".

"One of my proudest Spice Girls moments was meeting Her Majesty the Queen at the Royal Command Performance in 1997. I'm so grateful for this moment," she wrote with it.

Alongside other photos of the late monarch, Victoria paid tribute, saying that the Queen had been a "remarkable wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother" who "always put her family first". Victoria described the late monarch as the "ultimate icon in every way and the epitome of elegance," adding that she will "live on" in the hearts and minds of the public forever.

"The Queen will be remembered not least for her incredible kindness, grace, and compassion, but for her steadfast loyalty, service and commitment," she further wrote.

Victoria - who has her own eponymous fashion brand - is understood to have designed outfits worn by Royal Family member in recent years, including by Meghan Markle, 41. And she said in one of her posts that she was offering her "deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences" to the Royal Family, adding that she was joining them in mourning.

It comes after her husband David Beckham, 47, attracted praise for queuing for around 12 hours on Friday to see the late monarch lying in state at Westminster Hall in London. The former footballer - who received an OBE in 2003 - said he arrived in the early hours of the morning as he thought it would be "quieter," though ended up in a lengthy queue.

David - who wore a black suit for the occasion - was spotted on the live stream of the public procession and looked teary-eyed as he passed by the coffin of the late monarch.
