Victoria Beckham reportedly struggled with taking a back seat during the planning of the wedding of her son, Brooklyn, and Nicola Peltz.
The 47-year-old Spice Girl and designer was on hand to watch her 23-year-old son walk down the aisle at a ceremony in Miami over the weekend and welcomed 27-year-old Nicola into her family.
However, Nicola’s family – headed by American businessman Nelson Peltz, 79, who is worth a reported £1.3 billion – took care of all the planning.
As a result, a £3 million ceremony was held at one of the Peltz’s family homes – a £76million oceanfront mansion in Miami while three giant marquees offered shelter to the A-List guests and housed a dance floor, catering area and more.
According to new! magazine, Victoria had her nose knocked out of joint over the fact she was kept out of the planning stage.
A source told the magazine: “Victoria likes to take control of things but this wedding was completely organised by Nicola’s family.
“She had to take a back seat, which she found a bit difficult.
“But she understood and just wanted them to have the best day.”
Perhaps its for the best that Vicky was kept at an arms length during the planning process as the final wedding of Brooklyn and Nicola was an extravagant and lavish affair – while the wedding of the Spice Girl and then-footballer David was much more novelty in comparison.
Vicky and Dave tied-the-knot at a ceremony in Luttrellstown Castle, near Dublin, on 4 July 1999 complete with a Robin Hood theme, velvet thrones, and a fairy grotto with woodland flowers and ivy.
Meanwhile, Victoria sparked a bit of a backlash among fans when she took to Instagram to congratulate her son and his new wife.
Posting a snap of the happy couple on their big day, the proud mum wrote: “Congratulations Mr and Mrs Beckham X Welcome to the family” – adding a string of pink heart emojis.
But some followers were shocked that the singer-turned-designer hadn’t included Nicola’s family name – as Brooklyn and his wife are known as the Peltz-Beckhams.
Indeed, Brooklyn himself has changed his Intagram account to ‘Brooklyn Peltz Beckham’.
One fan replied to Victoria's Instagram post and wrote: "Isn't it Peltz Beckham?"

Another wrote: "Nicola wanted to keep her name in the family."
However, Nicola herself didn't seem to mind as she reacted to Victoria's post by writing: "Thank you!!" and adding a pink heart emoji of her own.
