Victoria Beckham has set the record straight on why she has had a tattoo of husband David’s initials removed.

The Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer, 48, sparked concern for the state of her 20-year marriage after her the inking on her inner wrist appeared very faded in recent photos.

Fans need not worry, however, as Victoria says she is removing multiple inkings and not just that one. as she simply doesn’t like them any more.

Appearing on Today with Hoda & Jenna on Thursday (October 13), she told Hoda Kotb: “They just didn’t look so nice. It doesn’t mean anything more than that.”

“I think that the media started to speculate, was I leaving my husband? No, I was just a bit sick of the tattoo. It’s as simple as that,” she added.

The mum-of-four also clarified that she isn’t opposed to tattoos, and praised her husband and children’s “gorgeous” inkings.

When it comes to her own body art, however, she decided that a “cleanse” was in order as some she got “a long, long time ago,” began to bleed and turn a “sort of bluey” colour.

The Spice Up Your Life hit-maker was also asked about eldest son Brookyn marrying actress Nicola Peltz earlier this year.

The couple recently marked six months since they tied the knot and the hosts were keen to know if Victoria had passed on any “lessons” about marriage to her offspring.

“I think that you can never really offer advice,” she replied. “The kids have to figure it out themselves, you know, but you have to be there, and we’re very close.”

Brooklyn and his wife recently supported Victoria at her Paris Fashion Week debut, despite reports of a rift between her and her daughter-in-law.
