Many Los Angeles Lakers fans are looking forward to this year’s summer league, as the team will possess a number of intriguing players, including draft picks Jalen Hood-Schifino and Maxwell Lewis.
The Lakers will start summer league play next week with the California Classic on July 3 and July 5 and continue in Las Vegas on July 7.
The July 5 contest will take place against the San Antonio Spurs, and the expectation was that perhaps Victor Wembanyama, the 7-foot-3 French wunderkind, would suit up versus Los Angeles.
Unfortunately, he will not do so, and Lakers fans will undoubtedly be disappointed that they won’t get a sneak preview of him.
The Spurs say No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama will not be traveling to Sacramento with the summer league team for two games but will join the team in Las Vegas. The Spurs’ first summer league game in Las Vegas will be July 7 against the Charlotte Hornets.
