Victor Wembanyama had the most-Michael Jordan response to tying MJ’s record in a Spurs loss

Victor Wembanyama put up a wild stat line on Friday night, tallying 27 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, five steals and five blocks as he did literally everything for the San Antonio Spurs.

However, those numbers came for Wembanyama in a game in which the Spurs lost on the road to the Los Angeles Lakers, 123-118. It was the third straight loss for San Antonio and the 46th of the season.

And so, Wembanyama wasn’t really in the mood to celebrate his historic performance. According to ESPN, he became just the second player to have five blocks and five steals in back-to-back games, joining only Michael Jordan.

When asked about accomplishing the feat, Wembanyama responded in a way that his Airness would appreciate.

“I wonder if [Jordan] did it in wins, not losses.”

Indeed, Jordan did. Wembanyama went on:

“To me, it’s secondary… It can’t be satisfied with a loss.”

Like it was for Jordan, winning seems to be everything for the young Wembanyama.
