The hype surrounding the NBA’s two new incredibly athletic 7-footers is palpable this season. And the unprecedented feats Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren have accomplished certainly help to sum up why the attention is bound to keep growing.
The Spurs‘ and Thunder‘s Rookie of the Year candidates haven’t even made it to the double-digit mark of regular-season NBA games in their careers yet, but their on-court production is noteworthy. Strong play from Wembanyama and Holmgren has resulted in the duo becoming the first two NBA players ever to record at least 10 blocks and 10 three-pointers through their first six games, per OptaStats.

Over their first six NBA games, Wembanyama racked up 16 blocks and 10 three-pointers, while Holmgren recorded 14 blocks with 13 three-pointers. For good measure, Wembanyama tacked on two more in each category against the Pacers on Monday night, while Holmgren added three blocks and one three-pointer against the Hawks.
Wembanyama is averaging 19.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 46.2% from the field. Holmgren has been the epitome of consistency while shooting the ball, knocking down 55.7% of his shots from the field and a stellar 53.8% from three-point range through seven games. He’s averaging 17.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.4 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.
