Last season, Wemby attempted 10 or more 3s in five contests. He has already exceeded that mark with six such games through not even a quarter of the season.
In San Antonio’s 139-130 win over the Washington Wizards on Nov. 13, he recorded a career-high 50 points on 18-of-29 (62.1%) shooting from the field, 8-of-16 (50%) from beyond the arc, and 6-of-9 (66.7%) at the free throw line.
Those 16 3-point attempts were a career best. Plus, Wemby became the first player in league history with 20 3-pointers and 25 blocks over a six-game span. He has four games so far this season with at least six 3-pointers made in each.
At 20 years and 314 days old, Wembanyama became the fourth-youngest player to drop a 50 burger, trailing only Brandon Jennings (20/52), LeBron James (20/80), and Devin Booker (20/145).
Wemby is the eighth player in Spurs history to reach that mark as well. David Robinson holds the franchise record with 71 points against the Los Angeles Clippers on April 24, 1994.
