Victor Osimhen's agent breaks silence after Manchester United links and Cristiano Ronaldo swap reports

The agent of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has thrown cold water on a potential summer transfer for his client before deadline day.

Manchester United have been linked with the attacker over recent days with some reports in Portugal and Italy claiming Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes is trying to orchestrate a 'swap' deal between Napoli and United for Osimhen and Ronaldo.

The 23-year-old took to Instagram last month to rubbish speculation surrounding his future.

"I spoke to the president, he is the one who decides, and he reassured me by explaining the club’s plans. I am happy with what he told me,” he said. On Friday, with just six days to go until the window shuts, his agent underlined this stance.

Taking to Twitter, Roberto Calenda said: “No negotiations in progress, no swaps. Victor Osimhen is a Napoli player and wants to play the Champions League with Napoli after winning it on the pitch with pride together with the coach and his teammates.”

Erik ten Hag is eager to bring in another attacking option during the limited time left in the window. The Dutchman is targeting Ajax winger Antony, with whom he won two Eredivisie titles while in Amsterdam.

Antony blasted Ajax for their refusal to let him leave. The Brazilian, who was left out of the club’s win over Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday, said: "Today (Friday), in a meeting with the club, I expressed my old interest in leaving, only this time with a considerable offer on the table.

“Ajax refused with the argument that they only have five days to replace me.” This comes after Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder said he did not expect Antony to leave this summer.

"I am assuming Antony will stay at Ajax. He has a contract at Ajax," he reiterated in a press conference on Thursday, when he also confirmed that Antony is not currently training with the first team.
