Vicky Pattison worried heavy drinking would 'ruin' her career after I'm A Celebrity

It should have been the happiest time of her life but Vicky Pattison has admitted she was plagued with doubts and 'imposter syndrome' after her terrific win on I'm A Celebrity in 2015 and worried she'd ruin her career due to drinking heavily.

On Tuesday, Channel 4 viewers will see former Geordie Shore star Vicky appear in candid documentary Alcohol, Dad & Me, in which she confronts her own issues with drinking, as well as those battled by her dad John, who is an alcoholic.

Vicky appeared on Tuesday's This Morning to talk about the programme and was quizzed by hosts Vernon Kay and Rochelle Humes on how her own drinking had impacted her life and career. And it was during the emotional chat that Vicky opened up about how things went wrong for her, after the nation voted for her to be the overwhelming winner of I'm A Celebrity nearly seven years ago.

Vicky topped the vote every time in the lead up to the final, where she scored a comprehensive victory over George Shelley and Ferne McCann, but told Vernon and Rochelle that, rather than bask in the success, she was worried she was going to throw her career away, just as it was really taking off.

Speaking about life in the aftermath of her I'm a Celebrity victory, Vicky said: "When I won the jungle, everyone assumed I was riding high and having the best time ever. And I was, to a certain extent; I was meeting lovely people and doing exciting things, but I felt so out of place, a bit of imposter syndrome."

While Vicky told Vernon she didn't found it hard going without alcohol in the jungle, she admitted: "When I came out I struggled to fit in and I probably drank too much then and I thought 'hang on, you've got everything you supposedly wanted and you're going to run it if you're not careful."
