Vicky Pattison reveals she's having her eggs frozen because it's 'not the right moment' to have children yet

Vicky Pattison says she's decided to have her eggs frozen because her body 'doesn't have the luxury of loads of time' while knowing it's not the right time to have children yet. The former I'm a Celebrity Queen of the Jungle has realised 'in her heart' that she wants to have kids so the star has made the first step towards having the procedure, which preserves a woman's fertility so she can try and have children at a later date.

Vicky, 34, has spoken out in a frank Instagram post about her decision, admitting she 'wasnt always so sure' she wanted children. But the former Geordie Shore star says her view altered after meeting her fiance Ercan Ramadan and by becoming an aunt to two-year-old Mavie.

She wrote: "I wasn't always so sure I wanted children... I remember going on @loosewomen years ago, just after the jungle and saying that I didn't think I wanted to be a mother. I was in my 20's and woeful arrogant enough to think that I had everything figured out and I wouldn't change my mind! (I was abit of a t*** )."

She explained: "But quite a lot has changed since then. I think when you get older what you want out of life just naturally changes you know? The late nights and bar hopping didn't do it for me anymore. I wanted something more from life.

"I also met someone I love who makes me feel safe and secure and who I know will be a good dad. Then little Mavie came into my life- a tiny person who has shown me the terrifying amount of love I am capable of feeling for someone."

Opening up about her decision Vicky continued: "So now I'm finally in a place where my heart wants to have children, my head knows it's not necessarily the right moment for us and unfortunately my body doesn't have the luxury of loads time. F*****g Mother Nature eh?"

Sharing photos from the treatment room she continued: "So today I took my first step towards freezing my eggs. I know I've talked about doing this for a while and I think the only explanation I can give for waiting so long was because I was scared.

"And I think I thought that starting this process meant accepting that I probably wouldn't be having children anytime soon- which even though I know is 110% the right thing for us and our relationship right now- was none the less a difficult pill to swallow."

Vicky has promised to keep fans updated. "Anyway, today went well the staff at @londonwomensclinic were lovely and as soon as I get my results, I will let you all know the next steps as there are so many nice ladies asking questions in my dm's so I'll be as transparent as I can be with you all," she said. "In the meantime, I can tell you that she said everything looked fine & there are no irregularities- which is a really good sign for egg retrieval," she informed.

And she signed off by saying: "Finally if there are any women out there struggling with getting older & worrying that they aren't in the place they thought they'd be- I just wanted to encourage you to book an appointment with a fertility specialist and maybe just find out where you stand. It can be scary but knowledge is power after all and we all deserve the future we envision for ourselves."

Vicky got engaged to Ercan on a trip to Dubai in February and last year they became proud owners of an adorable labrador pup Milo. The star was in tears after being 'puppy shamed' by strangers as one man branded her 'f***ing pathetic' because the excitable pooch walked over his grass.

Vicky also received 'super invasive messages' about how she should and shouldn’t be bringing up Milo. Taking to Instagram she shared photos of herself in tears as she explained in a heartfelt post: "Being Milo’s mam has brought me endless joy and I can’t express to you guys how much I love this giant, fluffy puppy. I have made peace with the fact that my life is forever changed."

Milo was rescued by the Dogs Trust after being illegally smuggled into the country. He was intercepted at the border with his litter mates and came into the charity’s care.
