Vicky Pattison prepares to freeze eggs after feeling like she is 'not ready' to have children

Geordie Shore icon Vicky Pattison has updated fans on her and fiancé Ercan Ramadan's fertility journey as she prepares to have her eggs frozen.

The 35-year-old and her beau visited the London Women's Clinic earlier this month to prepare for having her eggs retrieved in the New Year. The pair plan to then have the eggs fertilised to create embryos, before they are frozen.

And while Vicky updated her 5.2 million fans on her official Instagram page, she has since opened up further about the process so far on her podcast.

Speaking on her The Secret To podcast with Bianca Gascoigne, she said: "Yesterday me and Ercan went to start our egg freezing journey. It's been a long time coming and I've been saying I was gonna do it and I think if I'm honest with myself, the reason I've been putting it off is because I was waiting for this moment where I just felt actually ready to try and conceive naturally.

"I just was waiting for that moment where I was like, 'you know I've got a house and I love you Ercan, and we know we're going to be together forever and I want to have a baby with you now.' And I was waiting for that to come, and I wanted it to and it just didn't."

She added: "That's what I was chatting to the nurse about, I said to her yesterday...she was lovely and I said 'I kept waiting to just feel ready so I didn't have to do this' and I says 'it never came.' Then I realised and went 'god, if you keep waiting for that light bulb moment where oh yeah, I'm really ready to be a mother,' I was like 'you're gonna potentially miss the opportunity to even freeze some good eggs.'

"So no, we made the move yesterday."

Vicky then turned her attention to the next steps, adding that she is 'really nervous' about hormonal treatment in preparation.

She continued: "The way it works is like I'll get hormone injections to kind of like stimulate my egg growth and that's what we're really nervous about. That's what we're really nervous about cause obviously we're starting at the start of next year.

"I'm like a hormonal person anyway, really can cry at the drop of a hat, like mood swings all over the place - you'd think I was pregnant f****** 365 days a year. I'm honestly mad. So I really do worry about poor Ercan next year actually, cause he's so on one level - very calm, very measured - and I'm just going to be f****** nuts for two weeks."

Vicky has also opened up about how she wants to share every step of her journey to educate others going forward. She aims to raise awareness and understanding of the many avenues which can be taken to achieve parenthood.

On her Instagram page, she wrote: "I want women to be aware that there is more than one route to motherhood and happiness- but we have to understand more about our OWN bodies first and I think there's a real lack of honest information out there- and we also have to understand that every woman's experience with having children or trying to have children is different.

"In the new year I will be doing my best to share every step of this process with you- chronicling the highs and the lows of our embryo freezing process- just to give those ladies out there thinking about doing it an accurate understanding of how it can look!"

And after breaking the big news, Vicky's social media was flooded with heartfelt messages of love and support - including kind comments from fellow celebs. Laura Anderson wrote: "Exciting times huni. You’re on a rollercoaster but with your love. I wish you all the luck in the world..."

Paige Thorne, added: "Ahhh Vicky this is sooo lush," while Lauren Goodger said: "Good for you."
