Vicky Pattison felt 'overwhelmed and alone' before starting her egg-freezing journey

Vicky Pattison revealed she felt 'overwhelmed' and 'alone' before starting her egg-freezing journey.

The former Geordie Shore star, who has been with her fiancé Ercan Ramadan for the last four years, has been open about her experiences.

She started the process of freezing her eggs last year but was told that her ovarian cyst meant she would have to pause the procedure.

However, she recently shared the exciting news that the ovarian cyst has gone and she can finally continue freezing her eggs as well as embryos.

In a new post, Vicky talked about her decision to freeze her eggs and said she hoped her honesty would help other women going through the same thing.

"I know that this is subject can be incredibly triggering for some people & subsequently I've always tried to be super sensitive when discussing my journey- as I know I've been really lucky so far & I'm super aware that this isn't the case for everyone," she said.

She said she wanted to share her journey as she felt like there wasn't enough "honest & relatable discourse" about the process.

"When I first started looking into it- I felt overwhelmed, alone & completely out of my depth," Vicky posted.

"And no one I spoke to understood my fears. I felt in no way ready to bring a child into this world but I panicked that when I did feel ready- my body wouldn't be able to."

The star added: "I wanted women who are battling with their own ticking biological clock & their complicated feelings towards motherhood to know that they had options. That they can make responsible & smart decisions to try & safeguard their future happiness without having to compromise on their present hopes & dreams.

"And I stand by my decision... but I wasn't prepared for the judgement & hate that my journey would receive."

"I unfortunately had to learn the hard way that some people just aren't ready to accept the concept of a woman that is in a healthy relationship, but is still not ready to have children. The concept of a woman who still has many things she wants to achieve, places she wants to see & experiences she wants to have before she becomes a mother. I suppose the concept of a strong, liberated woman doing things on her own timeline is a scary one for some people.. But I'm not going to let those opinions stop me sharing my story. Because I know there are women out there who need to hear it."

The star is waiting for her fiancé to be ready to start a family and previously said she doesn't want to 'force him into a situation' where he isn't ready.
