Vicky McClure 'bringing everything home' as she updates on Line of Duty

Nottingham's Vicky McClure put the city first and foremost this week, as the actor shared details about her work and charitable causes. Sporting a 'This is Nottingham' t-shirt, she was pictured promoting Teenager Cancer Trust before taking to Instagram Live to share details of her upcoming projects.

Addressing fans on social media, she declared: "I know I'm a broken record, but I am what I am and I'm really proud of where I come from and I think it's important not to forget your roots".

The Line of Duty star was promoting two charitable events being held in the city but also took the opportunity to answer questions from followers about forthcoming acting projects including news about TV shows Without Sin, Trigger Point and Line of Duty.

Vicky first highlighted the 'This is Nottingham' music event raising funds for the charity Teenage Cancer Trust. The event on Saturday, December 3, will be hosted at the city's Metronome and presented and curated by Vicky McClure. She said: "It's called This is Nottingham, so for any This is England fans you'll have seen what I've done there."

Explaining the reasoning behind the gig, McClure explained that she had been to a couple of London events at the Royal Albert Hall where there were some 'epic' artists 'doing their thing', but said she wanted to do something like this out of the Capital. She added that it would obviously 'start in Notts' and try and get some really great Nottingham artists involved. Headlining will be Long Eaton rapper, Bru-c, along with fellow local artists Jah Digga and Kingdom Rapper

Love for the star was clear. The Live, which was posted just 17 hours ago, has already had more than 32,000 views. Instagram comments include: "Living legend", while another added: "Such a great cause, love you for all you do Vicky mwah", while a third added: "Love the t shirt!" and "Purchase complete duck!".

Shouting out to staff at Nottingham City Hospital and Queen's Medical Centre for their facilities and ward set up for teenage cancer patients, Vicky explained that money raised from the event would help fund those two wards in Nottingham.

Going on to chat about Our Dementia Choir's upcoming performance at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham on December 12, Vicky said: "I know, Nottingham again, but this is what I'm doing, I'm bringing everything home". She added that on Tuesday, December 13, the choir would also be performing in Mansfield at a corporate event.

Once the event details were shared, the Wollaton-born actor answered some questions being posed about forthcoming TV shows. Revealing that psychological thriller, Without Sin, would soon be hitting screens, Vicky declared: "This is a really special project", adding "I'm really excited... it is set in Nottingham and shot in Nottingham..." The show is scheduled to air on Wednesday, December 28 on ITV X.

When asked about Line of Duty, Vicky said she was always being asked if there would be another series, adding that the team would love to do it. However, she said: "It's just, there's just nothing to tell you at the moment".

She also confirmed that filming for another series of Trigger Point would start next year and there were more projects to look out for. Talking about her production company BYO Films (Build Your Own Films) - which she heads with partner Jonny Owen - she said they had a 'very exciting slate' - meaning list of potential projects.

In the meantime, Vicky encouraged fans to get behind the Teenage Cancer Trust either by supporting the event of buying the merchandise. She said: "We've got some merch. We've got some T-shirts that say 'This is Nottingham' and even if you're not from Nottingham you might still want to wear it".
