Vice President Kamala Harris is set to wrap up her term with a series of international visits to military installations in her final week in office. The Vice President's office announced on Tuesday that Harris will embark on a global tour from January 13 to January 17, with stops in Singapore, Bahrain, and Germany.
During her visit to Singapore, Harris will engage with the country's leaders and tour Changi Naval Base. In Bahrain, she will hold meetings in Manama and visit the headquarters of US Naval Forces Central Command and the US 5th Fleet. The Vice President will conclude her travels in Germany, where she will visit the U.S. Air Force 52nd Fighter Wing in Spangdahlem.
The purpose of Harris's trip is to highlight the achievements of the Biden-Harris Administration during the past four years in each region, emphasize the strong partnerships between the U.S. and the respective nations, underscore the vital role of U.S. military forces in regional and global security, and reaffirm the enduring national security interests of the United States. Additionally, Harris will interact with U.S. servicemembers during her events at the military installations.
Accompanying Vice President Harris on her journey will be second gentleman Douglas Emhoff, who will join her in the discussions and engagements throughout the trip.
