With just four days to Election Day, a recent poll conducted by Roanoke College shows Vice President Kamala Harris leading former President Trump by a significant 10-point margin among likely voters in Virginia. The Trump campaign is aiming to turn the Old Dominion State red after previous losses in 2016 and 2020, with the former president holding a last-minute campaign rally in Salem on Saturday.
Virginia has not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since former President George W. Bush's re-election in 2004. The poll indicates that only 2% of likely voters remain undecided, with another 2% planning to vote for candidates other than the five listed on the ballot.
Vice President Harris currently holds a 51% to 41% lead over Trump, with independent Cornel West and Libertarian Chase Oliver polling at 2% each. Green Party candidate Jill Stein is polling at 1%.
When asked about the most important issues, 43% of respondents cited the economy, followed by abortion at 20% and immigration at 12%. Foreign affairs and crime were named by 8% and 3% of respondents, respectively.
In the U.S. Senate race, incumbent Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., is leading his Republican challenger Hung Cao by a margin of 51% to 40%.
The poll surveyed 851 likely registered voters in Virginia from Oct. 25-29 and has a margin of error of 4.6%.
