When Vice President Kamala Harris visits Capitol Hill on Monday to oversee Congress’ certification of Donald Trump’s election victory, she will also be meeting with Democratic leaders, including House's top Democrat, Hakeem Jeffries, as reported by two sources familiar with the expected meetings.
According to a senior Harris adviser, the discussions between the vice president and top Democratic lawmakers are expected to cover various topics, such as the incoming administration’s agenda and the upcoming midterm elections. Democrats are already looking ahead to the 2026 midterm elections as an opportunity to regain control of the House.
