Vice President Kamala Harris is making a strategic move to solidify her backing among Latino voters as she wraps up her tour of the West Coast with a stop in Las Vegas this Sunday. This visit follows recent polling data from NBC News, Telemundo, and CNBC, which indicates that Harris is leading former President Donald Trump among Latino registered voters, although she trails behind other recent Democratic nominees.

A Harris campaign official highlighted the tightening race in Nevada, emphasizing the importance of the Latino vote in the upcoming November elections. Democrats are facing challenges in maintaining support within this demographic, especially in comparison to the levels of support President Biden received from Latino voters in the 2020 election.

According to the latest poll results, 54% of Latino registered voters expressed their support for Harris, while 40% backed Trump. The data also revealed that Harris maintains a significant lead among Hispanic women, with 60% in favor of her compared to 34% for Trump. However, the race is much closer among Hispanic men, with both candidates evenly split at 47% each.

The Harris campaign is leveraging its visit to Nevada to sustain its advantage over Trump, with a particular focus on the state's swing voters. Campaign officials have emphasized the strength of their ground game in Nevada, asserting that their organizational efforts are surpassing those of the Republican Party.

Recognizing the competitiveness of the race, the campaign official stated, 'We’ve known and have been preparing for this to be a close race. That’s why we’ve invested in the type of ground game we’re running.' Harris's strategic outreach to Latino voters in key swing states like Nevada underscores the significance of this demographic in shaping the outcome of the upcoming election.
