Vice President Kamala Harris made a significant statement during a campaign stop in Pittsburgh on Labor Day, emphasizing the importance of maintaining strong American steel companies. She expressed her agreement with President Joe Biden's stance that US Steel should remain American owned and operated.

Harris directly addressed the proposed sale of US Steel to Nippon Steel, Japan's largest steelmaker, a deal that has sparked controversy. President Biden has also voiced his opposition to the sale, highlighting the need to preserve American steel companies supported by American workers.
